From July 14 – August 11th this weekly community class features different teaching artists leading a variety of movement styles on our rooftop. Curated by our Artistic Director\, Raymond Ejiofor\, the series invites participants to explore movement\, creativity\, and connection in an inspiring open-air setting.\n\n\nWe invite you to a place beyond the noise of the city\, beyond the increasing stresses of daily life\, to a place you may not have visited for some time. Trust the ancient wisdom of Yoga to guide you to listen in a new way\, breathe in a new way\, open and relax—together. Surrender to pranayama\, sun salutations\, lots of “delicious” stretching and a series of classic poses. Shut out everything else. The secret is in the letting go. Relax deeply. Regain your energy for the rest of the week—and get your best night’s sleep.\n\nAll levels are welcome. This class is perfect for you if you are looking for peace\, but don’t know how to slow down.\n\nInstructor is Dharma Shakti from Sivananda Yoga.\n\nPlease Note: Participants must bring their own yoga mat. Yoga mats will not be provided on site.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][nectar_btn size=”jumbo” button_style=”see-through-2″ color_override=”#000000″ hover_color_override=”#000000″ hover_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”REGISTER ” url=”https://heididuckler.app.neoncrm.com/nx/portal/neonevents/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F50490″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Rather than striving for perfect poses\, you’ll be encouraged to move in ways that honor your unique body and nervous system\, fostering ease\, resilience\, and relaxation. \nThis welcoming class is accessible for all body types and experience levels. Modifications and options are offered throughout\, making it an ideal practice whether you’re brand new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner seeking a slower\, restorative flow. Drawing from contemporary design and traditional Nigerian parables\, the installation creates a dynamic public space that invites gathering\, reflection\, and play. \nIn response to this landmark artwork\, Heidi Duckler Dance and Heidi Duckler Northwest will premiere Meet Me at the Meadow\, a new site-responsive performance that activates the space through movement\, music\, and storytelling. The dancers celebrate and animate the colorful painted pathways and rhythms of Ilori’s artwork\, moving through the environment in dialogue with its patterns\, energy\, and sense of possibility. \nSpatial and relational in nature\, Meet Me at the Meadow explores how we change in relation to one another and how public spaces hold memory\, history\, and time. Meaning emerges not only through what is seen in the moment\, but through what is felt and shared collectively among performers\, audience members\, and the surrounding environment. The work invites moments of curiosity\, connection\, and discovery—an encounter with something both familiar and unexpected that ultimately brings people together in celebration of community. \nPresented as part of the official opening festivities\, this one-time performance honors the transformative power of public art to activate space\, spark dialogue\, and create meaningful connections across communities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][nectar_btn size=”jumbo” button_style=”see-through-2″ color_override=”#000000″ hover_color_override=”#000000″ hover_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”More Information & Tickets” url=”https://portlandartmuseum.org/event/miller-family-free-day-celebrating-the-cultural-district-plaza/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Inspired by the vibrant culture of street vendors and food carts that serve as gathering places throughout Los Angeles\, the work blends dance\, theater\, live music\, and audience participation to transform everyday public space into a dynamic stage. \nLed by HDD dancers and featuring live music\, this unique experience invites audiences to “order” performances from a menu of dancing dishes such as the Romantic Platter or House Salad with Tango Dressing. Through movement\, humor\, and storytelling\, performers serve up bite sized choreographic encounters that celebrate the social rituals of gathering\, sharing\, and connecting through food. \n¡ORDENA! Burbank places the stories\, flavors\, traditions\, and cultural richness of the neighborhood at the heart of the event. \nPerformance Set #1: 6:15 PM – 6:45 PM \nPerformance Set #2: 7:15 PM – 7:45 PM[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][nectar_btn size=”jumbo” button_style=”see-through-2″ color_override=”#000000″ hover_color_override=”#000000″ hover_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”RSVP” url=”https://heididuckler.app.neoncrm.com/nx/portal/neonevents/events?path=%2Fportal%2Fevents%2F48748″][divider line_type=”No Line”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]This performance is made possible in part by the City of Burbank Community Arts Grant Program [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”17163″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”None” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

We are especially honored to mark this milestone at the historic Los Angeles Law Library\, founded in 1891 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. \nOver the past year\, Heidi Duckler Dance has celebrated libraries and civic spaces throughout Los Angeles\, affirming that history is not only something preserved from centuries past\, but something continually created through our everyday lives\, relationships\, and collective experiences. In Summons to Celebrate we ask the question\, how do we deepen our connection to the world around us? We invite you to gather and join us in an historic reservoir of enchantment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” Soon after combining their efforts\, they also began using color\, texture\, and graphics as powerful storytelling and design tools to help express community identity and shape contemporary culture. Progressive early projects such as LA Design Center in South Los Angeles and Club Sugar received wide recognition\, and were quickly followed by inclusive learning environments for LAUSD and Caltech\, among others. Their commitment to resilient placemaking also has led to important commissions from socially oriented cities such as Los Angeles and Palm Springs\, as well as nonprofits like LA Cleantech Incubator and The United Way. Through design and activism that expand the boundaries of architectural impact\, the partners continue to catalyze social change through innovative environmental design.
