Sophie Akoury is a Lebanese architect and designer currently working in Los Angeles. She graduated from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts – ALBA in 2019 and she continued her studies at the Southern California Institute of Architecture – SCI-Arc.
Her master’s project, entitled 51 miles + 25 km = 13 feet, in which she proposes a parallelism between the Los Angeles River and the Beirut River, won the Frank Gehry Prize in 2022. Sophie Akoury regularly participates as a guest juror in competitions at SCI-Arc, Pratt Institute, and Syracuse University.
