Become a Teaching Artist

Heidi Duckler Dance relies on a team of experienced teaching artists to lead classes for our education programs. Teaching artists must attend specialized training with Heidi Duckler Dance prior to beginning work. Trainings are held one to two times per year. Individuals interested in becoming teaching artists should email Education Director Belize Wilheim at belize@heididuckler.org. Internships

Heidi Duckler Dance hosts multiple interns throughout the year, partnering with organizations such as Exploring the Arts and the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture. Interns at Heidi Duckler Dance have the opportunity to experience all the facets of arts organizations, from helping with productions to developing marketing campaigns.

We are looking for a Development and Marketing Intern to work in our office in Downtown Los Angeles for 10 weeks over the summer! To apply for this position, please send your resume and a cover letter to raven@heididuckler.org.

The Development and Marketing Intern will support the Director of Development and Communications with coordinating the planning and execution of Heidi Duckler Dance’s marketing plan and efforts to increase revenue from donors, foundations, and corporations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating content for social media platforms and e-blasts, assisting with outreach to partners, audience members, and other non-profit organizations, creating and managing fundraising campaigns, and assisting with grant writing.

Internship applications will be accepted in April 2024. Applicants will be notified whether or not they will be invited to interview for the position in April or May. Please direct questions regarding this internship opportunity to raven@heididuckler.org.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate is interested in developing their marketing and fundraising skills and learning about the internal operations of an arts nonprofit.

Eligible intern candidates must be currently enrolled undergraduates with a graduate date no earlier than May 2024. Eligible candidates either attend school in or are permanent residents of Los Angeles county.
