Perspective – n. 1. A type of line drawing used by architects to give work illusion of depth or space 2. Point-of-view, a way of interpreting what we see
The work of two Los Angeles-based iconoclasts, choreographer Heidi Duckler and architect Thom Mayne was on full display in Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre’s Space Opera, set at Mayne’s Morphosis in Culver City.

Duckler’s piece explored the intersection of dance and architecture. Joined by dancers and live musicians (lead by local composer Jon Armstrong), Duckler brought the audience on both a literal and figurative journey through space and place. The performance provided the audience with multiple perspectives, as it moved through the parking lot, into the building’s open workspace and finally out into the lush garden courtyard.
