Here at Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre we’re starting the summer off on a very positive note—a grateful one for that matter.

Why?

Well, we’ve received some wonderful news the past couple of weeks!

Since the beginning of 2015 we’ve been busy seeking funding to support our innovative programs, and finally our work is paying off! We’ve just been awarded several grants and we’re excited to share this news with you:

  • Thanks to the fine people at Bloomberg Philanthropies, who awarded us a Capacity Building grant, we’ll be able to strengthen the work we do with our Board of Directors
  • The City of Los Angeles’s Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Artsare helping to make our upcoming dance telenovela, Sophie and Charlie possible.
  • Because of the generosity of Engaging Dance Audiences (which is administered by Dance/USA and made possible with generous funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation) next year we’ll be able to bring you a brand new, interactive performance called Fish Eyes, which focuses on water conservation and sustainability.
  • And last but not least, we’re thrilled to be recipients of the LA County Arts Commission’s Outpost Residency, which will allow us to create a site-specific project alongside other artists and residents from the Antelope Valley.

Stay tuned for all our new and exciting programming … we’ll be animating a space near you soon!
