Heidi Duckler Dance (HDD) proudly opened A Living Legacy, a landmark exhibition at the Henry P. Rio Bridge Gallery, celebrating four decades of groundbreaking site-specific dance and HDD’s enduring relationship with the architecture, communities, and cultural life of Los Angeles.

Held on December 11, 2025, the opening evening welcomed guests for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception featuring remarks from Ysabel Jurado, who recognized HDD’s contributions to the city’s cultural and civic landscape. The celebration also included a toast, opening remarks from founder Heidi Duckler and Artistic Director Raymond Ejiofor followed by a guided tour of the exhibition.

The exhibition invites visitors into HDD’s archives through photography, video documentation, press materials, and historical artifacts tracing the company’s evolution across Los Angeles—from iconic works such as Laundromatinee to performances staged within City Hall itself. A Living Legacy reflects four decades of creativity, storytelling, and transformation through dance rooted in place.

This exhibition was made possible in part by the Council District 14 and the Ahmanson Foundation.
