We are thrilled to introduce the Fall 2024 class of fellows for the Dr. Kerry English Creative Fellowship! This unique 4-month program is dedicated to empowering young adults who have experienced the foster care system and have a passion for the arts. Fellows are paired with professional artists in their chosen creative fields, fostering mentorship and guidance to help them grow as artists.
On November 15, 2024, our newest fellows, Cathie Arteaga, and Michael Papias, had their first meeting with their mentors, Nico Savignano and Edgar Miramontes. This inspiring session, led by HDD Engagement Director Jessica Emmanuel, allowed mentors and mentees to connect, share their goals, and set expectations for the journey ahead. Over the next four months, these talented individuals will immerse themselves in their creative work, culminating in an exciting final showcase in the Spring.
