We are pleased to announce that two Heidi Duckler Dance Original films are official selections at the 2024 Berlin Lift-Off Film Festival.
The 2022 HDD Original Film, CounterIntelligence: The Story of Sister Alyonushka and Brother Ivanushka is a contemporary reimagining of a Russian folktale told in a tongue-in-cheek telenovela style that asks the question: who are we, really? The recognition or lack thereof of our human behavior and the situations resulting from our unconscious actions is the premise of this tale.

The 2023 HDD Original Film, I Will Remember What I Forgot, searches for the answer to the question: What happens internally when we suffer in silence? The most difficult step in mental health recovery is asking for help. This film follows a person’s journey from walking in the door to his recognition of who he is.
Filmed at the Behavioral Health Center at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Wilmington, California.
