Set in an empty swimming pool, Life in the Lap Lane begins with parodies of poolside behavior and jumps into the deep end to investigate themes of thirst, longing, and hell. Apocalpytic projections by Dan Evans adorn the pool walls and floor while music by Carla Lucero, performed by Franny McCartney on the high dive, accompanies the bathing beauties as the pool becomes a metaphor for hell.
