On Saturday, February 15, Heidi Duckler Dance hosted an engaging salon series featuring renowned choreographer and dancer Jasmine Albuquerque.
As we entered the Year of the Wood Snake—a symbol of renewal and transformation—the salon invited attendees to reflect on adaptability in the face of change. The evening’s performances explored how we embrace transformation, shed old patterns, and reconnect with our innate ability to heal, much like the graceful and resilient snake.
The night opened with compelling dance performances by B Gosse and Maija Knapp, followed by a featured work by Jasmine Albuquerque, during which Nandi Zulu’s evocative poetry was recited, adding depth to the performance. The evening concluded with a special screening of Albuquerque’s recent experimental films and an artist talk-back session moderated by HDD Engagement Director Jessica Emmanuel
