On June 8, 2024, 100+ attendees experienced a one-night-only site-specific collaboration between Heidi Duckler Dance and Los Angeles-based visual artist, Kim West during golden hour.

In this immersive, site-specific dance performance, audience members journeyed through the hauntingly vacant animal cages of the abandoned zoo, led by the evocative strains of a live violinist, Pauline Lay.

As the eerie echoes filled the empty enclosures, dancers suddenly burst out of the cages, transforming their confines into stages. They climbed onto a second set of smaller cages, their movements now accompanied by the soulful notes of  saxophonist, Marta Tiesenga, adding layers of intensity and freedom to the experience.

The performance culminated as the dancers silently crept toward Bee Rock, the raw landscape amplifying themes of captivity, liberation, and the untamed.
