Deanette Brewer serves as the Vice President, Human Resources at Para Los Niños (PLN) where she is responsible for providing leadership, vision, and strategic direction in designing and driving all PLN Human Resources programs. Deanette has over 30 years of non-profit human resources management experience, which includes higher education, social services, and K-12 education. She keeps her hand on the HR pulse of the organizations she serves. Deanette’s experience and expertise in building
strategic and effective human resources department infrastructures to meet the organization’s culture and mission. As well as creating organizational agility and resilience capabilities. She holds a Professional HR (PHR) Certification from HRCI. In 2013, she completed the Nonprofit Leadership Development Program through the Southern California Center for Nonprofit Management.
In July 2019, she completed the KIPP Leadership Design Fellowship. Deanette recently completed the Coro
Executive Leadership Network Program. Deanette believes constant learning is paramount to maintaining a growth mindset.
Deanette is an HBCU graduate of Wiley College, in Marshall, Texas, “Home of the Great Debaters,” where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, and she is an alumni life member. She also holds life membership in the first African American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and serves on the leadership team of the Culver City Chapter, Mu Lambda Omega.
She is a proud Compton, California native and is devoted to giving back to her community and underserved communities. Her personal mantra is “Service is the rent we pay for being alive.” Deanette enjoys exercising on her Peloton, attending art shows and exhibits, mentoring young women, and watching tennis grand slams.
