Join us for a new performance, What Remains Un/Seen. This unique event is set for Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 at the Wende Museum and its garden.
Choreographed and directed by HDD Founder and Artistic Director, Heidi Duckler, “What Remains Un/Seen” delves into the deep waters of surveillance and societal control, inspired by the themes of the Wende Museum’s exhibition “Counter/Surveillance.”
This compelling work invites audiences into the inner garden, where Mexican-American Scenic Designer, Efren Delgadillo Jr. will transform it into an enigmatic space. Here, movement and mystery converge in interactive vignettes where HDD dancers animate the silent dialogues of observation. These performances subtly reveal the tensions between visibility and the unseen, offering a nuanced examination of the dance between the observer and the observed.
Accompanying the choreography, the atmosphere is infused with haunting live music and intricate soundscapes that echo through the garden, crafted from a blend of live performances and electronically altered sounds that underscore the theme of surveillance. The experience is further enriched by transient set designs where ephemeral structures and vivid multimedia projections warp the boundaries of space and secrecy, creating an environment that invites audience interaction and contemplation.
Admission is free with a suggested donation of $20.
